In September 2017, the Shuford Program in Entrepreneurship held an innovation challenge to celebrate the naming of the program thanks to an $18 million transformative gift to the Campaign for Carolina. Students created objects out of duct tape, a product of the Shuford family’s company Shurtape Technologies. The objects had to be Tar Heel-themed, of course! Winning students are pictured with program executive director Bernard Bell (center) and donor Jim Shuford ’88 (MBA ’92). (photo by Kristen Chavez)
